And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
【王上19:2】 耶洗别就差遣人去见以利亚，告诉他说，明日约在这时候，我若不使你的性命像那些人的性命一样，愿神明重重地降罚与我。
Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.
【王上19:3】 以利亚见这光景就起来逃命，到了犹大的别是巴，将仆人留在那里，
And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.
【王上19:4】 自己在旷野走了一日的路程，来到一棵罗腾树下（罗腾，小树名，松类。下同），就坐在那里求死，说，耶和华阿，罢了。求你取我的性命，因为我不胜于我的列祖。
But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
【王上19:5】 他就躺在罗腾树下，睡着了。有一个天使拍他，说，起来吃吧。
And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
【王上19:6】 他观看，见头旁有一瓶水与炭火烧的饼，他就吃了喝了，仍然躺下。
And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
【王上19:7】 耶和华的使者第二次来拍他，说，起来吃吧。因为你当走的路甚远。
And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
【王上19:8】 他就起来吃了喝了，仗着这饮食的力，走了四十昼夜，到了神的山，就是何烈山。
And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.
