So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.
【路2:5】 要和他所聘之妻马利亚，一同报名上册。那时马利亚的身孕已经重了。
He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
【路2:6】 他们在那里的时候，马利亚的产期到了。
While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,
【路2:7】 就生了头胎的儿子，用布包起来，放在马槽里，因为客店里没有地方。
and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
【路2:8】 在伯利恒之野地里有牧羊的人，夜间按着更次看守羊群。
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.
【路2:9】 有主的使者站在他们旁边，主的荣光四面照着他们。牧羊的人就甚惧怕。
An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
【路2:10】 那天使对他们说，不要惧怕，我报给你们大喜的信息，是关乎万民的。
But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
【路2:11】 因今天在大卫的城里，为你们生了救主，就是主基督。
Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.
【路2:12】 你们要看见一个婴孩，包着布，卧在马槽里，那就是记号了。
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.'
【路2:13】 忽然有一大队天兵，同那天使赞美神说，
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
【路2:14】 在至高之处荣耀归与神，在地上平安归与他所喜悦的人。（有古卷作喜悦归与人）。
'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.'
【路2:15】 众天使离开他们升天去了，牧羊的人彼此说，我们往伯利恒去，看看所成的事，就是主所指示我们的。
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, 'Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.'
【路2:16】 他们急忙去了，就寻见马利亚和约瑟，又有那婴孩卧在马槽里。
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.
【路2:17】 既然看见，就把天使论这孩子的话传开了。
When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,
【路2:18】 凡听见的，就诧异牧羊之人对他们所说的话。
and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
【路2:19】 马利亚却把这一切的事存在心里，反复思想。
But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.
【路2:20】 牧羊的人回去了，因所听见所看见的一切事，正如天使向他们所说的，就归荣耀与神，赞美他。
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
【路2:21】 满了八天，就给孩子行割礼，与他起名叫耶稣，这就是没有成胎以前，天使所起的名。
On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise him, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he had been conceived.
